This world-class pediatric care center engaged Nimbus to redesign its website in alignment with a renovation of the institution’s public areas. After several visits, immersing themselves in the experience of being at LPCH, Nimbus designers adapted the playful “underwater” theme of the transformed facility and carried it over to the hospital’s online presence. The result is a seamless blending of the actual and virtual LPCH—welcoming, upbeat, and soothing—experienced by patients and their families.

When it acquired Nimbus client MDL Elsevier in 2007, this pioneer in scientific information management and research had a basic website of static HTML pages. But MDL brought along an online catalog with 1000s of product detail pages. Merging 40,000+ pages from various Symyx sites, Nimbus built a database-driven site with a clear business focus, dynamic content and navigation, personalized e-commerce, and CMS.

A popular portal for parents of school-aged children, this website
challenged Nimbus to pull off a high-wire act: attract more users by
adding vibrancy to the user experience without confusing or alienating
the established community. Nimbus designers brightened the look and feel
of the sight, while the firm’s information architect expanded and
streamlined the structuring of the site’s diverse resources and assets
for greater usability.
