Co-founder of Nimbus Design, Arturo has worked his entire career at the intersection of art and technology. In addition to providing creative direction for every Nimbus project, he has led the firm’s expansion into bilingual, government, and international markets. Arturo holds a B.S. in graphic design from San Jose State University, where he’s now an associate professor, helping develop the next generation of graphic and new media artists.

A partner in Nimbus Design, Iikka has served as the firm’s lead technologist for more than a decade, guiding the development of the deep, complex web solutions and integrations that define today’s online world. An expert in user interface and experience engineering, Iikka oversees the information architecture for every Nimbus web project.
John Novicki

Director of Quality Assurance
With more than 15 years' experience in all aspects of quality assurance, John develops and implements test automation systems for Web applications, document management, OCR and image management systems, and other technologies integral to today’s complex web solutions. Prior to joining Nimbus, John was director of QA at Proteus Development and Tanjian Technologies, and provided senior automation expertise for the Caere Corporation.
Karen Sparks

Chief Financial Officer/Account Executive
In addition to managing the firm’s finances, Karen serves as chief account executive, project manager, and executive assistant to the principals of Nimbus Design. Prior to joining Nimbus, she spent more than 15 years in the legal profession, with roles in office management, document production, trial preparation, and attorney support. Karen holds a B.A. in government and history, with a minor in foreign languages, from Mills College.

Senior Designer
Born and raised in México, Javier studied graphic and industrial design at a university there before coming to the U.S. to pursue his career. After earning his B.F.A. in graphic design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2005, Javier joined Nimbus, where he brings his personal blend of cultural influences and industrial design background to a variety of identity, print, and web design projects.
Gerald Joanino

Senior Designer
An experienced print, web, and environmental designer, Gerald has worked with leading Bay Area creative firms on packaging and collateral, branding and identity programs, and web and multimedia projects. Gerald holds a B.F.A. in graphic design from San Jose State University, as well as an A.A. in multimedia and a certificate in digital imaging from Berkeley City College, where he was recognized as a Dean’s Scholar.
Felipe Salazar III

Operations Manager
Responsible for managing day-to-day operations in the Nimbus Design development center, Felipe combines expertise in various web programming languages (APS, ASP.net, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, XML, XHTML) with more than 10 years’ experience in web development. Prior to joining Nimbus, he managed twin teams of designers and software engineers for WebFactorial Corporation. Felipe holds a B.S. in computer science from AMA University (Republic of the Philippines), where he won various programming competitions while earning his degree.
