Combining Design and Technology to
Support a Community Bank’s Distinctive Brand
Borel Private Bank & Trust Company has a tradition of personal service and close ties to the community, but its website was outdated, and unable to support the features and conveniences that today’s customers expect in their online business relationships.
In addition to a look and feel that would reflect the institution’s distinctive identity and brand, the Bank & Trust’s site needed a new information architecture to enable both easier navigation and the integration of various Web 2.0 technologies recommended by Nimbus. Management also wanted bank staff to be able to maintain and update the site in-house. Finally, the whole job had to be finished in four months, in parallel with other marketing initiatives.
Nimbus designers used imagery to focus the new Borel Private Bank site on people, creating an online presence that’s warm, approachable, and trustworthy. The site is easy and intuitive to navigate. Social media features, including Google Maps, RSS feeds, and YouTube videos, add value, flair, and convenience. And the integration of the open source Drupal content management system (CMS) empowers bank staff to maintain the site themselves.
The new site has been a hit with the bank and its customers, who especially appreciate that they can email individual staff members directly through the site. Bank & Trust employees use the CMS to keep the content fresh and up-to-date, which drives additional traffic. Altogether, the site both communicates and embodies Borel Private Bank's tradition of personal service, more effectively and efficiently than ever.
